According to recent statistics 9.4% of UK adults aged 16 to 59 have taken illicit drugs in the last year. In 2019 the UK saw its highest ever levels of drug related deaths - making the UK the country with the highest number in Eruope, three times higher than the average. This work explores legal and illegal drugs and the dangerous effects they can have on individuals and society as a whole. It also looks at UK drug laws and the resources available to help those suffering with an addiction.
