Fantasy adventure directed by Spike Jonze ('Being John Malkovich', 'Adaptation') based on the classic children's story by Maurice Sendak. Max (Max Records) is a naughty young boy who has misbehaved yet again and, as punishment, his mother (Catherine Keener) sends him to his room. While stuck in his bedroom Max passes the time by letting his imagination run wild and creates a whole new world where he sails to the land of the Wild Things: a place where huge, hairy creatures live and where Max is crowned king!
